Circular Economy Precincts

The NSW Hunter Joint Organisation wanted to explore the concept of a network and four physical, multi-element circular economy precincts for their region.

With a sound methodology that included stakeholder engagement, Sarah led the design of four precincts (industrial energy hub and industrial port, biohub and towards zero waste region).

Each precinct leveraged the unique characteristics of each place, engaged with stakeholder needs, and prioritised the circular economy and a transition to net zero.

The project launched at the 1st Australian Bioeconomy Conference on 19-20 September 2023 and concluded in 2024 with the delivery of four precinct concept plans, a business case and implementation roadmap.
