Wood Cycle Connect

This was an innovative project delivered for the Illawarra Shoalhaven Joint Organisation (ISJO). A true collaboration between the GHD and ISJO teams, Sarah delivered two workshops (one face to face, another online) and led the GHD team to develop an educational tool to support a circular ecosystem for wood waste in NSW, Australia.

According to the 2022 national waste data, almost 60% of wood waste is sent to landfill annually. With each tonne of wood waste creating 600kg/t of greenhouse gas emissions, this project aimed to provide a platform for solutions and also to connect supply with demand stakeholders to facilitate a circular ecosystem.
