A national circular economy roadmap for plastics, glass, paper and tyres

In preparation for the national waste export ban on plastics, glass, paper and tyres, CSIRO was asked by the Australian Federal Government to develop a roadmap to explore pathways for a circular economy.

I led the work on plastics which resulted in significant engagement with industry and government. I identified the key market levers for achieving a circular economy for plastics in Australia. The strategies identified included sustainable procurement and market development to encourage increased use of domestic recycled resources. Australia also required significant investment into plastic recycling infrastructure.

I was pleased to represent CSIRO at the National Plastics Summit which you can see here.
